Main Purpose of Job
Provides intermediate level fiscal analytic support to the Finance Division and Funding Programs of the Interagency Commission on School Construction (IAC). The position provides essential support to the IACs school construction funding programs and related financial operations helping to achieve a safe healthy and educationally sufficient environment for public school students in Maryland.A crucial function of the position is data analysis project review accounting reconciliation and reporting to support decision making and communications.

POSITION DUTIES
Introduction
The mission of the Interagency Commission on School Construction is to achieve a safe healthy and educationally sufficient learning environment for every child attending a public school in Maryland. Our vision is a fiscally sustainable statewide portfolio of Pre-K-12 school facilities that will remain educationally sufficient for current and future generations of students and teachers.
Position Duties
Provides analytic support to the IACs Finance Division including modifying and implementing procedures ensuring internal controls performing reconciliations assisting with capital and operational budget requests and managing purchasing functions of the agency. Additionally provides administrative support to the Funding Programs Division including monitoring and reviewing funding applications IAC Meeting agenda items and Commission actions auditing data and contributing to LEA correspondence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associates Degree
Experience: 1 year of experience examining analyzing and interpreting accounting systems records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles. 2 additional years of experience can be substituted for the required education.
1. Applicants who have met the requirements for admission to the CPA examination prior to July 1 1974 will be considered to have met the educational requirement referenced above.
2. Possession of a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant or a Masters degree in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Accounting Officer classification or Financial Management specialty codes in the accounting field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
