Primary Responsibilities:
Answer inquiries from airlines regarding metals and metal processing.
Revise material and process specifications as necessary for the continued production of spare parts.
Review and approve suppliers to metal material and processing specifications.
Oversee metals failure analyses to develop root cause and corrective actions.
Review documents and drawings to ensure the correct definition of metals and metal processes appropriate to a part or assembly.
Use project management tools to meet cost technical and schedule requirements incorporating environmental health and safety LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes (2) research design and qualification and (3) work procedures.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry
1 years of experience with Metallurgy
Experience reading and interpreting drawings specifications material processes schematic and diagrams
Must be able to travel 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
2 years of experience in the aerospace industry
Bachelors degree or higher in Metallurgical Engineering
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering computer science mathematics physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA ABET accreditation is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.
