Job Description
This position is responsible for supervising lower staff overseeing multiple teams of workers inspecting work developing plans and performing related administrative work. Responsibilities will include the coordination and prioritization of work orders to ensure repairs are scheduled efficiently. The position will also oversee the work of outside contractors who may be on-site at a DWR facility to perform repair work outside the scope of in-house crews.
This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace.
Essential Duties
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a supervisory position in industrial equipment maintenance. A complete understanding of the functions of Facilities Maintenance and preventative maintenance of water or wastewater treatment plant equipment. The completion of a training program or apprenticeship in the mechanical or electrical trades experience in the repair of water or wastewater treatment plant equipment or a related field a basic understanding electrical safety in an industrial plant and experience in planning and scheduling work in addition to experience working with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS):
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record demonstrating the following skills and critical attributes:- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with all staff levels.
- Effective in communicating in multiple modalities (written verbal non-verbal) with staff and the public.
- Leadership skills with the ability to effectively coach train and mentor individuals in small to moderate size group settings.
- Effectively and efficiently plan organize and direct/oversee the work of personnel as well as Preventive Maintenance & Corrective workorders.
- Principles of supervision and performance measurements.
Other Job Requirements/Information- This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours weekends and/or holidays.
Grade
The grade for this position isB32(3).
Effective 4/11/2023 this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or G.E.D.;
Valid drivers license from state of residency;
Six years of related work experience including 2 years of supervisory experience OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job AND
Valid Georgia Commercial Drivers License (CDL) (must be obtained in the first 12 months).
