Job Summary:
The Radiology Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Radiology Department ensuring high-quality patient-centered imaging services. This role provides leadership and guidance to radiology staff coordinates schedules monitors performance and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. The Radiology Supervisor also performs imaging procedures as needed serving as both a clinician and mentor to team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise mentor and evaluate radiology staff to ensure quality care professional growth and effective teamwork.
Coordinate staff scheduling to meet patient imaging needs efficiently.
Assist with hiring onboarding training and performance evaluations of staff.
Maintain compliance with state federal and accrediting body regulations as well as district policies and procedures.
Maintains adequate records within the department as directed.
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness.
Secures and returns supplies
Operates shift with cost consciousness to avoid over usage or unnecessary waste of materials and/or staff.
Pursues continuing education techniques of various radiographic exams such as but not limited to attendance at outside continuing education seminars with administrative approval.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support integrated patient care plans.
Monitor patient outcomes documentation quality imaging quality and productivity standards.
Provide direct imaging services on an emergent basis balancing clinical duties with leadership responsibilities.
Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in departmental planning and budgeting.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages staff engagement professional development and patient satisfaction.
Serve as a resource to staff regarding clinical best practices workflow and problem-solving.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Imaging program.
- Current Washington State Radiologic Technologist license (or eligibility).
- Minimum 3 years of clinical radiology experience preferably in a hospital or outpatient imaging setting.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of radiology regulations imaging protocols documentation standards and safety practices.
- Excellent communication organizational and leadership skills.
