The Research Associate Spin Qubits Research Scientist is a highly motivated and skilled research scientist that experimentally investigates the behaviour of scalable multi-quantum-dot based quantum circuits using Ge materials. The Research Associate will also contribute to writing and publishing research project results mentoring students and postdocs and collaborating with other national and international academic institutions government and industry organizations. Other activities include attending conferences and workshops to gather and disseminate research results in high-impact publications writing and submission of grants to fund research activities.

Organizational Status

The Research Associate SpinQ Scientist reports to Project Principal Investigator Joe Salfi and formally to the Blusson QMI Scientific Director Andrea Damascelli and. The incumbent makes decisions regarding planning and implementation of research projects and provides mentoring and coaching to students postdoctoral fellows senior staff and international users.

Work Performed

Research activities

  • Prepares and measures multi-quantum dot quantum circuits building on a successful process already developed by Salfis team in the QMI Nanofab facility 1.

  • Experimentally investigates and optimizes the performance of novel multi-quantum dot circuits and/or interconnects. Identifies and investigates scalable multi-quantum dot circuits;

  • Contributes to multi-year roadmapping activities at a yearly program review involving project partners including a semi-industrial foundry;

  • Interacts with a team of graduate students and postdocs to investigate qubit properties and demonstrate novel algorithms with support from theory partners;

  • Contributes to the preparation and writing of research proposals and to the preparation of progress reports.

Fostering learning

  • Provides scientific advice and mentoring to students postdoctoral fellows and other staff.

  • Disseminates research results in high impact papers.

  • Attends relevant conferences and workshops to collect or disseminate knowledge.

Supervision Received
