BGC Okanagan is seeking an Adult Youth & Child Worker for our Cultivate Program.
This position is responsible for providing one-on-one support to children and youth facilitating group sessions organizing recreational activities and working collaboratively with a Family Counsellor to deliver program services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Collects and assesses information related to clients needs challenges and risks through interviews behavioral observations meetings with caregivers and service providers and the use of relevant assessment tools.
Develops and implements short-term issue-specific intervention plans in consultation with the supervisor and in alignment with program guidelines.
Plans prepares and facilitates individual and group counselling sessions using approaches such as active listening conflict resolution basic group counselling and psycho-educational methods to address identified needs and goals.
Provides skill development in areas such as parenting strategies anger management and self-regulation techniques.
Monitors and evaluates clients progress documenting outcomes and consulting with the supervisor to review effectiveness and adjust plans as needed.
Informs clients and families about available program services and provides referrals to community resources and other professionals when appropriate.
Maintains accurate records statistics and reports as required by the program and supervisor.
Liaise with community service providers professionals and school personnel to advocate for and promote the interests of clients. Accompany clients to meetings and appointments as needed.

Qualifications:

Diploma in a related human / social service field.
One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
Valid Class 5 drivers licence

Successful completion of the agencys screening process including a criminal record check

Hours: 35 hours per week Monday-Friday 10:00 am-6:00 pm

Rate of Pay: $ 27.54 per hour
