Fire Protection Engineer (5+ years)

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer with five or more years of working experience who is passionate about their craft wants to work on a high-functioning team and looking for an environment that promotes professional growth. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic have a desire to work and grow with a multi-discipline engineering team and be willing to have fun.  

You would be providing our clients with: automatic suppression system design fire detection alarm and mass notification system design life-safety code analysis egress analysis fire resistant construction analysis smoke control analysis and special inspection as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Approximate Base Salary $90000.00 - $130000.00 based on experience.
• Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
• Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
• Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change).
• 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution.

Skills Knowledge and abilities:

• Design and specify basic systems without continuous oversight.
• Assist in managing CAD and production efforts.
• Perform consulting services for internal clients utilizing Fire Protection Engineering technical skills including but not limited to: automatic suppression system design; fire detection alarm and communication system design; code analysis; egress analysis; fire resistant construction analysis; smoke control analysis; as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research.
• Work independently and supervise the efforts of a small team.
• Manage and participate in multiple projects simultaneously and profitably.
• Define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Possess intermediate level computer skills necessary for daily activities including email word processing spreadsheets graphics and a working knowledge of computeraided drafting and Revit (fire dynamic simulation for fire protection engineers).
• Able to work independently as well as in high functioning teams.
• Positive contributor to overall office and department goals culture and morale.
• Able to multitask and prioritize in a fastpaced environment.
• Possess strong critical thinking organizational and analytical abilities.

Qualifications :

• BS degree in engineering or related science from accredited college or university
• PE Required
• Minimum five years working experience in Fire Protection Engineering (consulting)
• General building construction knowledge 
• Experience working with AutoCAD and Revit 
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Expected Annual Salary Range: $90000.00 - $130000.00.
