Engineering Research Center Facilities Manager of Job Duties:The College of Engineering Project Manager reports to the College of Engineering Facilities Manager and provides essential support in managing project planning execution and safety compliance within the university. The position will be responsible for assisting the College of Engineering (COE) facilities team oversee eight COE research and academic buildings and associated grounds. This role assists in coordinating cross-functional teams including building occupants campus Facilities Management and contractors while managing building projects. This role also provides support to the COE facilities team for maintaining security systems and ensuring compliance with local state and federal safety regulations (e.g. OSHA EPA).

This position is weather essential and may require occasional travel to different university locations or off-campus sites.

Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering Sciences Business Administration or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education

• At least two years of experience in project management facilities management or construction management

• Experience with project management methodologies and academic/research laboratory safety regulations

Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certifications related to project management (PMP) facilities management (CFM FMP) or safety (STSC CHST)

• Prior related experience at an academic or research institution

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of the practice procedures management and activities of facilities management in a higher education campus

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

• Effective communication and teamwork abilities

• Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

• Strong commitment to a safety culture

• Ability to work independently and as a member of a collaborative team
