An established industrial production facility specializing in high-volume textile and uniform services is seeking a hands-onAssistant Plant Managerto join its leadership team. This role supports a 100 year-old fast-growing organization recognized for innovation quality and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will be a driven organized leader with a proven background in plant operations and team development within a high-throughput production or service environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily production activities ensuring output quality and customer delivery standards are consistently met.
- Supervise multiple Production Supervisors and department leads across shifts to maintain workflow efficiency and accountability.
- Monitor and report on production metrics performance and any operational issues impacting output or service.
- Lead workforce planning including hiring scheduling training and performance management for production teams.
- Coach and mentor supervisors and team members to build internal talent and prepare staff for promotion opportunities.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations (OSHA labor laws and company policies) ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance logistics and customer service teams to resolve operational challenges quickly.
- Manage labor costs and production budgets identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Maintain strong communication with internal teams and external clients to uphold service quality and resolve any escalated issues.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through proactive problem-solving workflow optimization and data-driven decision-making.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or 1 year of managerial experience in a high-volume plant or production environment.
- At least 2 years of customer service or client-facing experience handling service-related demands.
- Proven understanding of production workflow scheduling and team coordination.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook) and general computer literacy for reporting and communication.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with safety compliance OSHA standards and workplace regulations.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
