What will you do

As a Health & Safety (H&S) Manager within our organization you will have a varied challenging and responsible position focused on developing implementing monitoring and improving policies in the areas of quality safety health and environment (QHSE).

At Riwald everything revolves around safe and responsible your role you ensure that colleagues return home safely every day that we comply with all laws and regulations and that we live up to our sustainable mission. Safety is not a side issue for usits the foundation of everything we do. Every day we process tons of waste into valuable raw materials and to do this responsibly we rely on the knowledge and dedication of a motivated H&S Manager who recognizes risks and improves processes.

As H&S Manager you are the link between policy and practice. You ensure compliance with safety health environmental and quality standards and you work closely with colleagues within Riwald Netherlands and ArcelorMittals Recycling business unit. You will analyze risks conduct audits and inspections propose improvements and guide colleagues in safe and environmentally conscious working practices.

You are also a key sparring partner for management operations and technical teamssomeone who connects theory and practice and is visibly present on the work floor.

In addition you support the technical department and operators at Riwald in hiring external contractors obtaining cost-effective quotations managing personal protective equipment (PPE) and organizing training sessions and permits for employees and external workers.

Your Profile

Preferably a completed education or relevant work experience at MBO/HBO (vocational or bachelors level) in a technical field (e.g. Technical Business Administration Environmental Science Integrated Safety / MVK)

Affinity with technology (mechanical and process safety); experience in recycling is a plus

Analytical structured and responsible

Strong communication skills; fluent in Dutch and English (German is a plus)

Present and visible at the Almelo site working closely with the management team operators Yard & Quality Manager and Technical Department to ensure a safe healthy and efficient production environment
