On the Integrated Video Experience (IVE) team were on a mission to revolutionize the way customers use video to shop on . We believe that video has the power to inspire educate and delight shoppers enabling them to experience products before they buy. As a key member of our dynamic startup-like team within Amazon youll have the opportunity to shape the future of video-driven commerce.

We are looking for a skilled Full Stack Front End Engineer to join our team responsible for building shoppable video this role youll develop and optimize interactive video features that empower customers to make informed shopping decisions through immersive information-rich video content. You will work on a player that supports closed captions jump links hotspots related products and related videos and interactive elements like helpful votes share and report functions.

Additionally youll help enable inline playback which seamlessly integrates video into our product discovery experience as customers scroll through the widget.

Key job responsibilities
* Develop Interactive Video Features: Build and enhance features like closed captions clickable jump links interactive hotspots and related products within the shoppable video player to deliver an engaging and informative experience.

* End-to-End Software Development: Work on both front-end and back-end systems to support seamless video streaming interactive elements and product recommendations.

* Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with designers UX researchers and product managers to align development with the intended customer experience and Amazons usability standards. Also work with other Amazon teams to help them integrate with video player in partner teams shopping journey.

* Enhance User Engagement: Implement share report and voting features to increase customer interaction ensuring smooth functionality and responsiveness.

* Optimize Inline Playback: Develop and test inline playback capabilities to provide customers with continuous video engagement as they browse through product details on the page.

* Instrumentation and Data Collaboration: Implement instrumentation to measure key video engagement metrics such as watch time interaction rates and feature usage. Collaborate closely with the data team to analyze these metrics and provide insights that drive continuous improvement in the user experience.

* Performance and Scalability: Ensure the shoppable video platform is highly performant scalable and optimized for fast load times and efficient streaming across devices.

About the team
The Distribution team is responsible for planning designing experimenting with and delivering all customer-facing video discovery and viewing experiences on Amazons platforms. Our key objectives are:

* Innovate and develop the various distribution points where shoppers can find and access videos enhancing the overall video discovery and viewing experience.

* Design implement and continuously improve software features user interfaces and content strategies to optimize the video playback experience and related downstream shopping capabilities.

* Enable partner teams across Amazon to seamlessly integrate video-viewing capabilities into their unique use cases providing guidance and support to ensure a consistent and high-quality customer experience.

* Constantly explore new avenues for video distribution leveraging emerging technologies and customer insights to stay at the forefront of video innovation in the e-commerce space.

* Collaborate cross-functionally with content engineering and product teams to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive video strategy that aligns with Amazons overall business objectives.

* Foster a culture of experimentation data-driven decision making and a relentless focus on customer obsession to deliver exceptional video experiences that delight and engage Amazons customers.

This charter empowers the Distribution team to be the driving force behind Amazons video discovery and viewing capabilities continuously elevating the customer experience and contributing to the companys overall success.

- 3 years of non-internship professional front end web or mobile software development using JavaScript HTML and CSS experience
- 2 years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design data structures algorithm design problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react

- 1 years of agile software development methodology experience
- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML CSS JS TypeScript and Node

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
