Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role is a skilled and proactive leader with hands-on experience developing and implementing preventive and corrective maintenance programs and ensuring regulatory compliance. This individual is adept at providing technical direction mentoring staff and managing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills a commitment to quality and the ability to oversee special projects and administrative responsibilities are essential. The ideal candidate thrives on collaboration continuous improvement and is dedicated to achieving departmental goals and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

Equivalent to graduation from high school and three (3) years of responsible work experience comparable to that of a CVSan Collection Maintenance Worker. Supplemental education in supervisory or business course work is desirable as is some lead or supervisory experience.

The minimum qualifications and acceptable substitutions described on class specifications represent the typical way to obtain the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the essential duties of the job. Any combination of education licensing and/or experience which has provided the knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform the job satisfactorily may qualify the candidates to be considered for open positions in the class specification.

ABOUT CASTRO VALLEY SANITARY DISTRICT:
The Castro Valley Sanitary District (CVSan) is a small public agency organized under the Health and Safety Code of the State of California. As a California Special District CVSan has responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer collection system within the unincorporated community of Castro Valley. CVSan also is in charge of the administration of a refuse collection franchise the CVSans 25% interest in a wastewater treatment facility implementation and administration of State and local mandated recycling programs as well as participation in sub-regional wastewater discharge and solid/hazardous waste management agencies.
