The Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as the Manager Patient Experience within a licensed Joint Commission-accredited 122-bed hospital. This leadership role is critical for driving and fostering a culture of patient-centered care focusing heavily on improving the overall patient and family experience. The successful candidate will translate information derived from objective data and subjective patient feedback into actionable organizational behaviors and performance improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The Performance Improvement / Patient Experience RN Manager will be responsible for:
- Patient Experience Strategy: Developing implementing and managing strategies that drive and foster a culture focused on patient-centered care.
- Performance Improvement: Utilizing quality and performance improvement methodologies including data analysis and management to enhance clinical and non-clinical outcomes.
- Feedback Analysis: Translating objective assessments and subjective feedback (e.g. patient relations grievances and complaints) into practical measurable improvements across departments.
- Patient Advocacy: Overseeing patient advocacy and complaint/grievance management processes to ensure rapid and effective resolution.
- Leadership & Training: Providing leadership and mentorship to staff to embed patient experience best practices into daily operations.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program is required.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related field is required.
- Masters degree in a related field is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting with demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Minimum of 1 year of quality or performance improvement experience including data analysis and management.
- Experience in patient advocacy or formal complaint/grievance management is preferred.
Certifications/Licenses
- Current and active California RN License is mandatory.
- Certified Patient Experience Professional (CPXP) is preferred.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is preferred.
