We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our aerospace manufacturing team. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for performing receiving in-process and final inspections of precision components and assemblies to ensure compliance with internal customer and industry standards. This position is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong mechanical inspection background and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform receiving in-process and final inspections of aerospace components and assemblies.
- Execute and document AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI) per customer and internal requirements.
- Develop and follow inspection plans ensuring all results are properly recorded.
- Identify and document nonconforming parts and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Maintain detailed records including inspection reports part history folders and supporting documentation.
- Calibrate maintain and document inspection tools and measurement equipment.
- Conduct visual inspections hardness testing and electrical conductivity testing.
- Interpret blueprints drawings and schematics using precision measuring tools.
- Use inspection instruments such as calipers micrometers profilometers optical comparators and thickness gauges.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional tasks and special inspections as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3-5 years of experience as a Final or Receiving Inspector in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- Certification in Mechanical Inspection required; certifications in CMM Hardness or EC testing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T aerospace standards and quality codes.
- Skilled in precision measurement and inspection tools (calipers micrometers profilometers optical comparators etc.).
- Familiarity with Six Sigma principles preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office and quality inspection systems.
- Dependable team-oriented and flexible to work overtime or across shifts as needed.
