SUMMARY: At Lakelands the Drafter plays a critical role in turning ideas and designs into tangible products by creating detailed plans and drawings that guide the manufacturing process. Drafters work closely with architects engineers and other professionals to ensure that the drawings are accurate meet project requirements and comply with relevant codes and standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Drafting: Create detailed technical drawings plans and schematics using CAD software systems. Identify design issues that will negatively impact the manufacturing process and/or project.
Documentation: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project documentation including shop drawings specifications bill of materials and other documents as needed.
Revision and Modification: Collaborate with engineering sales team and operations to revise and modify existing drawings as required ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
Quality Assurance: Review drawings for errors inconsistencies and compliance with drafting standards and industry regulations.
Communication: Effectively communicate with team members to understand project requirements and coordinate drafting tasks to meet deadlines.
Document all technical clarifications and changes.
All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:

B.S. in Construction Civil or Mechanical Engineering

A.S. degree or equivalent in Drafting CAD or related subject.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

Must be proficient in AutoCAD SolidWorks other 3D programs and Microsoft applications including Excel Word and Outlook.
Drafting / design work experience creating detailed technical drawings in fields such as architecture engineering manufacturing or construction.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Duties are performed in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers and filing cabinets.

Time will be spent in an industrial manufacturing environment while collaborating with Operations and Quality Control team members.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles moving mechanical parts and vibration.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
