Job Description: 322141 Rating Analyst

The Team:

At S&P Global Ratings our analytical insights drive market transparency and help investors manage credit risk globally. Our Credit Analysis team upholds the highest standards of integrity and excellence in financial markets. Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Support analytical workflowsby gathering analyzing and applying financial technical and operational data to assist senior analysts in comprehensive credit portfolio analysis and rating activities

  • Conduct detailed research and analysisto prepare well-structured documents presentations and committee materials that demonstrate strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

  • Participate actively in rating committee meetingsalongside senior analysts contributing insights while developing your understanding of rating methodologies and sector frameworks

  • Demonstrate strong financial statement analysis capabilitiesby reviewing corporate financial data identifying key trends and supporting credit assessment processes with accuracy and timeliness

  • Collaborate effectively with team membersto manage and process large datasets ensuring quality deliverables while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining our high standards

  • Contribute to team initiativesthat improve efficiency in our business area bringing fresh perspectives and demonstrating your commitment to continuous improvement

  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week

  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer

What Were Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Economics Finance Engineering Mathematics or related field from an accredited institution

  • Typically 2 years of experience in financial analysis credit analysis or related analytical roles

  • Strong analytical skills with deep understanding of financial statement analysis and accounting concepts

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly absorb analyze and act upon complex information while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and database management tools

  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skillswith ability to contribute effectively toward shared goals

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of rating methodologies credit risk assessment or sector-specific frameworks

  • Experience with financial modeling forecasting or industry analysis

  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines while maintaining quality standards in fast-paced analytical environments

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex financial information clearly

Compensation/Benefits Information:(This section is only applicable to US candidates): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is USD: $75000 - $92000 USD. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individuals geographic location as well as experience level skill set training licenses and certifications.
