Position Overview:

The Beyond the Bell (BTB) Area Supervisor provides direct leadership for all Beyond the Bell site locations in Brantford Six Nations and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
The Beyond the Bell Area Supervisor manages staff and volunteers as well as partnerships within the community to ensure quality service to school aged children. The Beyond the Bell Area Supervisor is required to operate centers within the approved financial parameters promote the services of the centres within the community develop and nurture relationships with families while adhering to the guidelines set out by the Ministry of Sport YMCA standards including YMCA Healthy Child Development assessments.

What Youll Do:
- Role model effective leadership behavior for all staff and volunteers that align with our YMCA HBB core values.
- Be responsible for the direct supervision recruitment orientation and training along with scheduling timekeeping payroll and performance management of a designated BTB staff team
- Responsible for the development implementation and evaluation of innovative learning methodologies aimed at engaging children in a learning environment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with staff parents school board staff and community contacts.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained for each program participant.
- Actively participate in Association initiatives involving the Annual Giving Program and other educational and promotional initiatives of the Association.
- Assume frontline responsibilities as required.
- Utilize appropriate Behavior Management techniques in all interactions with the children and monitor staff team for same.
- Manage all aspects of the BTB operation including the development and management of operating budgets of each location monitoring expenses as well as maintaining program enrollment and ongoing communication with schoolboards and community partners.
- Establish and foster a positive family-based customer service with a strong focus on equity diversity and inclusion.
- Ensure Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed.
What You Bring:
- Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Studies Recreation and Leisure and/or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience. Demonstrated ability in leading coaching and cultivating a work environment of collaboration and teamwork.
- Knowledge of child development and related new research and its application in childrens recreational programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging community trends.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and establish effective working relationships with staff families and community partner agencies.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Effective time management skills; must be able to plan and prioritize work assignments
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office email and/or internet applications
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C including AED certification.
- Access to reliable personal transportation to travel throughout Hamilton Burlington Brantford Six Nations and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation to visit programs within the community and provide on-site support is required.
