Job Summary

TITLE: SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTPARAPROFESSIONAL

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelors Social Work and/or psychology.
  2. Enjoys working with children.
  3. Basic skills appropriate to specific employment situations including acceptable communication patterns.
  4. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  5. Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Kansas drivers license.
  6. Ability to lift as required by job.

Director of Special Education and/or Designee-NKESC

Supervising Teacher and District Administrators

JOB GOAL:

To work with any student(s) assigned in all school settings.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Carry out specific plans made bylicensed personnel for students identified with disabilities.
  2. Work and interact appropriately with children identified with disabilities.
  3. Adhere to local and Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center policies.
  4. Participate in pre-training and in-service as necessary to meet KSDE NKESC and local guidelines.
  5. Prepare requests for materials purchases duplicating of materials completing of forms/reports planning/keeping appointments and other such duties as determined by supervisor.
  6. Be able to research materials as needed.
  7. Be responsible for appropriate data collection necessary for accountability.
  8. Provide oral and written feedback to appropriate individuals on the performance of the child.
  9. Assist in screenings as necessary.
  10. Perform any other dutiies as directed.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  1. Exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone to enter data into a computer to see and read a computer screen and printed materials with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels outdoors and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms outdoors and on the telephone; and physical agility to reach overhead.
  2. Ability to move between schools school buildings and multiple rooms.
  3. Ability to interact with students that meets their physical emotional and psychological needs.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Per Memorandum of Employment Agreement.
