The O&G service at Tairāwhiti is a small dynamic team looking to employ a suitablyqualified O&G specialist to join the service. This role will work collaboratively and cohesively with the other team members toprovide effective services for the Tairāwhiti region.
The Department is hospital based and provides a mix of inpatient emergency and outpatientservices for a community of approximately 50000 people with approximately 700 births per year.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates applying for this position are expected to have a general scope of O&G skills including;
We are looking for applicants who are keen to work in partnership withour Head of Department and other team members to develop our O&G services and work oncontinuous improvement within our Department.
Time is split with 70% clinicalresponsibilities and 30% non-clinical.
It is expected that you will also participate in the on average 1:4 or 1:5 (but can be 1:3 when necessary for internal cover) on-call roster covering maternity acute gynaecology admissions and gynaecology inpatients.
Applicants must have Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) Vocational registration in the Scope of Practice ofObstetrics and Gynaecologyor be an overseas trainedObstetrician and Gynaecologist eligible for MCNZ Provisional Vocational registration under the supervision pathway in the Scope of Practice ofObstetrics and Gynaecology.
