Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Ensure the railway structures and installations are protected from the impact of private government and property construction works carried out in the vicinity of the operating railway
- Oversee construction activities interfaced with the operating railway impose adequate and reasonable requirements to protect railway structures and ensure railway safety
- Assess and provide timely response on construction proposals within the guidelines and relevant legal provisions
- Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders for the review and approval of safety critical works
- Lead a team of technical staff to conduct regular inspections to ensure railway protection measures are properly implemented and identify risk areas for mitigations
- Review and monitor data to ensure compliance with railway protection requirements and recommend appropriate actions
Requirements
- Degree in Civil /Structural Engineering or a related discipline
- A minimum of 8 years relevant experience of which 2 years should be at supervisory level
- Possession of Corporate Membership of a recognised professional institution in Civil / Structural Engineering is preferred
- Sound knowledge of heavy civil engineering building construction and railway operation
- Good communication skills in both English and Chinese
Remarks
- Appointment will be made on two-year renewable contract terms
