POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the everyday duties of processing Pilgrims chicks in a safe and humane manner. Position is also responsible for providing all sanitation practices for the operation of the department.
Position Schedule: Monday Tuesday Thursday & Friday (Including holidays) Approximately: 5:45am 2:30 pm - may vary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Responsible for culling chicks according to procedure when required.
- Load boxes into box washer automation and washes chick carts.
- Stage stacks of chicks into separator or chick holding room and monitor operations.
- Perform box counts to help ensure counting accuracy.
- Move full stacks of washed hatcher trays from the tray re-stacker to the staging area.
- Clean and disinfect processing and chick separator area to include tearing down automation for cleaning and re-assembly.
- Complete all sanitation which involves tear down and clean-up of all equipment in hatcher rooms. The expectation is to observe report and/or perform minor maintenance as necessary.
- Assist in the load out of hatchery refuse when necessary to include wash down of equipment and load out area.
- Train others with the skills and knowledge gained from position.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.

- Flexibility to work in changing environment and adjust to various production demands.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High School education or equivalent
- Ability to work independently
