About The Position:

The Apprentice Estimator plays a key role in supporting our Preconstruction and Sales teams by preparing accurate and competitive Structural Steel estimates. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals early in their careers who are eager to grow within a mentorship-driven environment. Highly Valued Assets:
  • Bachelors Degree preferably in Construction Management or Engineering
  • Experience in the Steel Construction Industry
  • Experience with estimating software i.e. On-Screen Takeoff ProEst Planswift etc.
  • Hands-on experience with MRP software i.e. FabSuite FabTrol etc.
  • Knowledge working with scheduling software i.e. Microsoft Project Primavera etc.
  • Familiarity with software such as Revit Structures Tekla Structures & AutoCAD is preferred
What youll be doing:

As an Apprentice Estimator for ConXtech youll be trained to do the following:
  1. Thoroughly review and understand project plans and bid documents to effectively create project budgets estimates constructability studies and proposals for commercial high-density residential and industrial structural steel projects
  2. Participate in the collaborative design and integration of the ConXtech system with architects engineers consultants contractors and other sub trades during the estimating/bid process to improve project speed simplify and/or improve ConXtech design integration and reduce project costs
  3. Maintain a current understanding of the total costs for alternative means of construction including hard construction costs and relevant soft costs
  4. Maintain ConXtech estimate & bid schedule to properly communication project priority levels and due dates
  5. Manage all aspects of the ConXtech estimating software to ensure all pricing and labor data is updated by each department
  6. Stay current with ConXtechs System and Solution representatives to maximize the effectiveness of ConXtechs bidding strategies
  7. Responsible for creating and documenting all project review strategy meetings pre-read documentation for project reviews.
  8. Responsible for creating and documenting all post-estimate project reviews and meetings.
  9. Properly turn over bid and project documentation to ConXtechs fulfilment team for a seamless handoff of all awarded projects
  10. Establish and maintain respectful and cooperative working relationships with co-workers field personnel sub-contractors architects engineers owners general contractors and other business associates to help grow the ConXtech brand
  11. Provide upper management with reports on estimates/bids pending won or lost by market
  12. Prepare reports comparing actual vs budgeted cost to ensure accurate estimates are properly aligned with current fulfillment standards
  13. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Where youll be working:

Youll be working in a hybrid role from our fun commuter friendly Pleasanton CA headquarters with 2 days working remotely from home and 3 days working onsite.
