DescriptionThe Role
We are seeking a bilingual Legal Counsel to support the HWC contract practice across LatAm & Spain in both English and Spanish being an active contributor to the strategic coordination of regional contracting efforts. The role also involves assisting in certain Corporate Secretary matters.
The ideal candidate will be a LatAm qualified lawyer with strong cross-border contracting experience and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced multicultural environment.
Key Responsabilities:
- Draft review and negotiate contracts in English and Spanish primarily for HWC operations in Latin America with occasional support for CRB contracts and other regions as needed.
- Collaborate and advise business stakeholders while liaising with OGC local colleagues to identify legal risks and ensure compliance with local legal requirements and internal contracting policies.
- Assist regional Corporate Secretary (Corp Sec) activities.
- Actively support the strategic coordination of regional contracting including contract-related projects template governance and process improvement across jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with global Legal and Compliance teams to ensure alignment and consistency.
QualificationsThe Requirements
- Law degree from an accredited institution and license to practice in a Latin American jurisdiction (Colombia preferred) with at least 5 years of experience in commercial and cross-border contracting.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written) with strong drafting and negotiation skills and excellent interpersonal communication.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced multicultural and remote environment while contributing to strategic initiatives across jurisdictions.
- Experience in consulting and professional services with a solid understanding of legal risk and compliance in multi-jurisdictional contexts; insurance experience is a plus.
