Are you an ambitious Corporate and Commercial Solicitor ready to take greater ownership of your work and build meaningful relationships with entrepreneurial business owners Our client an established London law firm with over 25 years of excellence is expanding their Corporate & Commercial team and seeking a skilled solicitor to play a key role in their growth.
This is an opportunity to work with a senior team that values initiative strategic thinking and a human approach to practice advising ambitious clients on the deals and decisions that shape their businesses.
About the Role
As a Corporate and Commercial Solicitor youll manage a diverse portfolio of company commercial matters working directly with business owners directors and entrepreneurs to deliver clear practical legal advice. Youll have the autonomy to run your own matters whilst collaborating with colleagues across departments in a supportive forward-thinking environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising onshare and business sales and acquisitionsfor SMEs and growing businesses
- Drafting and negotiatingcommercial contracts including supply agreements distribution agreements and service contracts
- Preparingshareholder agreements joint venture agreements and partnership structures
- Advising oncompany restructures reorganisations and corporate governance matters
- Handling generalcompany law issues including articles of association board resolutions and statutory compliance
- Working closely withbusiness owners directors and entrepreneursto provide strategic commercially focused legal advice
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships with exceptional standards of service and communication
- Contributing tobusiness development and firm-wide growth initiatives
- Collaborating with colleagues across Corporate Property Litigation and Private Client departments on multi-disciplinary matters
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
What Were Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years PQEin Corporate and Commercial law (UK qualified solicitor)
- Strong technical expertisein company commercial transactions M&A and commercial contracts
- Proven experience advisingSMEs business owners and entrepreneurs
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Commercial mindset with genuine interest in business and entrepreneurship
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and confidence working directly with clients
- Strong communication abilities able to explain complex legal concepts clearly
- Self-motivated well-organised and proactive approach to work
- Ability to work autonomously whilst contributing to a collaborative team environment
Desirable:
- Experience with private equity transactions or venture capital funding
- Knowledge of employment law IP licensing or data protection in a commercial context
- Established client following or demonstrable business development experience
- Experience working with tech startups or scale-ups
