The Innovative Electron Microscopy Department is developing and applying electron microscopy methodologies for nanoscale and atomic-resolution characterization of soft functional materials and their interfaces using a synergy of materials science and biological electron microscopy approaches.
PostDoc Position (F/M/D): 4D-STEM Analysis of Hybrid Materials
JOB DESCRIPTION
The INM Research Department Innovative Electron Microscopy is currently looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in the field of materials science with a strong background in scanning transmission electron microscopy.
The PostDoc position is part of the E-MOSAIC project which is focused on the development of electron microscopy approaches for the characterization of hybrid materials and their interfaces at the nano and atomic scale. As a member of the project team you will apply 4D-STEM techniques for resolving the nanoscale and atomic structure of hybrid interfaces and understanding the role they play in the studied systems.
The full postdoctoral position is available from the 1st of January 2026 or later. Payment follows the collective agreement for public sector employees (TV-L) and depends on qualifications and professional experience. The suitable candidate will be offered an initial contract of two years with a possible extension based on performance.
