Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Science; MBA preferred
- Minimum 8 years of sales experience in the healthcare industry ideally within the medical device sector
Role Overview
The Area Account Manager is responsible for achieving and exceeding sales targets for the assigned region in line with company goals and policies.
This is an individual contributor role focused on driving sales of ASP capital equipment consumables washer-disinfectors (WD) and sterilization monitoring products within the designated territory.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of infection prevention solutions customer needs and market trends while building long-term partnerships and loyalty toward ASP as a trusted healthcare partner.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Performance
- Promote the complete ASP product portfolio within the assigned territory
- Develop and share weekly and monthly sales action plans with the manager to achieve business objectives
- Independently manage routine sales negotiations and close deals; seek guidance for complex opportunities
- Represent the company at trade shows conferences and other professional events as required
Territory Management
- Understand customer needs and identify new sales opportunities
- Track and respond to tender or contract opportunities in collaboration with internal teams
- Develop an efficient territory plan aligned with business priorities
- Educate surgeons and healthcare professionals on infection control practices and ASP solutions through consultative engagements one-on-one meetings and group training sessions
Customer Education & Training
- Identify customer training needs and coordinate in-service education programs with support from the manager
- Build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of hospital stakeholders
- Deliver in-service sessions and provide feedback to marketing on customer education needs
Key Account Management
- Create and execute plans to grow key accounts and maximize sales potential
- Map key stakeholders and decision-makers within each account
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and collaborate with internal teams to capture them
- Support customers in inventory management within company guidelines
Product & Market Knowledge
- Maintain deep product knowledge and effectively communicate features benefits and applications
- Stay informed about competitive products their positioning and market activities
- Gather insights on customer behavior practices and trends to inform strategy
Expense & Resource Management
- Manage accounts receivable and operating expenses (travel marketing entertainment) responsibly
- Adhere to approved budgets and obtain prior approval for exceptions
- Plan and utilize samples efficiently within company guidelines
Ethics & Compliance
- Conduct business with integrity and in full compliance with company values and ethical standards
- Build relationships with customers based on transparency trust and professionalism.
