Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design KLAs Global Products Group (GPG) which is responsible for creating all of KLAs metrology and inspection products is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist software engineers application development engineers and senior product technology process engineers. First to deliver the best imaging and classification data for every defect or point on any layer at any time. EBeams mission encapsulates its role as the eyes of KLAs product line providing timely information on defects and critical locations on the wafer at the highest spatial resolution possible. Customers use EBeam products alongside KLA patterned and bare wafer inspectors to quickly understand the nature of defects and other imperfections on product wafers and take action to correct the manufacturing process.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Algorithm Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on the development of advanced Image Processing Machine Vision and Deep Learning algorithms to power our next-generation inspection and metrology systems. You will contribute to the design and implementation of innovative solutions that enhance defect detection classification and image quality in semiconductor manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop algorithms for SEM image analysis defect detection and classification.
• Apply deep learning techniques (e.g. CNNs GANs) to improve image quality and simulate SEM images.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineering software and hardware to integrate algorithms into production systems.
• Analyze performance metrics and optimize algorithms for accuracy speed and robustness.
• Conduct research and stay current with the latest advancements in computer vision and machine learning.
• Document algorithm design implementation and validation results.

Required Qualifications

• Educational background in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Applied Mathematics or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python and C.
• Solid understanding of deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with generative models (e.g. GANs) is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with semiconductor inspection or metrology systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SEM image data and electron beam systems.
• Background in signal processing statistical modeling or computational imaging.
• Knowledge of GPU programming and high-performance computing.
• Strong publication record in relevant fields is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 5 years; Masters Level Degree and related work experience of 8 years; Bachelors Level Degree and related work experience of 12 years

Base Pay Range: $180000.00 - $306000.00 Annually
