Head of Accounting and Finance

We are recruiting for a Head of Accounting and Finance to join an organization within the cutting-edge technology this pivotal role you will lead the accounting function ensuring precise financial reporting maintaining internal controls and upholding compliance with financial regulations. Reporting directly to a dynamic CFO youll oversee financial management budgeting forecasting taxes investor relations and capital management. This hybrid position is based in the Rocklin area offering a compensation range of $165000 to $210000 DOE plus equity.

The qualified candidate will bring industry-related experience and a background in start-ups. We are seeking a positive self-motivated individual with a brilliant mind who is ready to take a hands-on approach.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Management & Strategy:

• Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) process ensuring accurate forecasting and budgeting.
• Develop financial strategies aligned with the companys short- and long-term goals.
• Provide actionable insights to senior leadership to inform business decisions.
• Develop and maintain financial models to drive performance improvement.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting principles.

Risk Management & Compliance:

• Identify and mitigate risks including regulatory compliance and market fluctuations.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and corporate governance standards.
• Manage relationships with external auditors regulatory bodies and other stakeholders.

Tax Strategy & Compliance:

• Develop and execute the companys tax strategy ensuring efficient tax planning and compliance with local state and international tax laws.
• Oversee tax filings including corporate income tax sales tax and other obligations.
• Minimize the companys overall tax burden through tax-efficient structures including transfer pricing international tax and tax credits.
• Work with tax advisors legal counsel and auditors to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Stay updated on tax reforms and developments that may impact the organization and proactively recommend adjustments to corporate strategy.
• Ensure effective management of tax audits and tax dispute resolution.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Oversee all financial reporting activities ensuring timely and accurate reporting of the organizations financial performance.
• Monitor key financial metrics and ensure the company maintains a strong financial position.
• Lead monthly quarterly and annual financial reviews providing insights and recommendations to improve profitability and reduce costs.

Investor Relations & Capital Management:

• Lead capital fundraising efforts including equity debt financing or other financial instruments.
• Manage relationships with investors analysts and other key stakeholders.
• Evaluate and manage the companys capital structure ensuring optimal capital allocation.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Develop and implement annual budgets managing the allocation of resources across departments.
• Monitor performance versus budget providing variance analysis and corrective actions.
• Update financial forecasts regularly to reflect changes in the market or business operations.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in finance accounting economics or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience preferably in technology or SaaS industries.
• Deep understanding of financial planning risk management tax strategy and compliance.
• Proven track record of leading fundraising efforts and managing investor relations.
• Expertise in financial systems tools and analytics.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in the software industry preferred.
