Position Summary

The Grant Post-Award Manager is both a collaborator and central resource for faculty and staff to seek external funding for programs capital and strategic initiatives as communicated and facilitated within the strategic plan adopted by university leadership.

Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement the Manager is a knowledgeable approachable and flexible professional who is has the ability to work with people and complete work within deadline and under significant time pressure.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate grant post-award duties with the Advancement and Finance teams to create a spending plan/request for restricted account for each award to ensure that grant funding is designated and provided appropriate oversight for spend down
  • Coordinate grant launch meeting with PI to inform the grants management process
  • Prepare progress reports as required by foundation state and/or federal grant agreements
  • Work with PIs to revise budget navigate changes in PIs and request grant extensions or a repurpose for funding
  • Ensure maximum efficiency in spend and compliance of all grant funding to the organization.
  • Willingness and ability to work outside of normal business hours to meet deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Grant administration experience in a higher education setting
  • Familiarity with federal state and private foundation funder programs and guidelines
  • Experience in proposal budget preparation
  • Project management experience and strong time management abilities
  • Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Education and Experience

A Bachelors degree is required and at least five years of experience in grant management.
