Job Summary

Plan schedule and manage a Multi-Skill Cyclic Work Program for the repair and maintenance of building systems including the prioritization of repair projects assignment of work activities and projects and regulation of workflow.
Act as the primary contact for communications and correspondence to administrators principals citizens and all other school personnel.
Manage review and submit overtime request approving purchases of tools equipment supplies and contract services.
Provide and implement safety training to employees ensuring safe work practices. Identify coordinate and schedule applicable training staff as a continuation of their education in the multi-skill craft.
Visit district sites to monitor cyclical multi-skill maintenance operations ensuring compliance with codes standards regulations and operation instructions.
Study and review existing work practices and procedures to determine methods of improving multi-skill repair and maintenance work.
Manage and monitor departmental budget through Oracle Finance System purchases of repair materials and contracted services.
Analyze and resolve work problems and assist department personnel in solving problems.
Work closely and correspond with other departments in the district such as Electrical Plumbing Grounds HVAC etc. report and resolve issues together as to improve safety and repair conditions in district facilities.
Supervise the activities of a Maintenance Quadrant in accordance with the districts policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees planning assigning and directing work appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees addressing complaints and resolving problems.
The manager will be on a rotating schedule for after hour/emergency callouts. Receiving calls from DISD security and dispatching after hour crews to resolve emergency issues.
Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Oversee the daily working responsibilities of a Multi-Skill Supervisor Multi Skill Coordinator Material Expediter and an Administrative Assistant III. Also oversee the daily operations of the Multi Skill Craftspersons and work completed

Demonstrates knowledge of resources and information relating to multi-skill and maintenance systems including planning and implementation of a Cyclic Maintenance Schedule.
Demonstrates leadership interpersonal and motivational skills to interact with employees staff members principals and administrators daily.
Demonstrates knowledge to balance budgets oversee the purchasing of materials tools and equipment and the ability to use the DISD Oracle Finance System.
Demonstrates effective oral and written skills communication and organizational skills required for reports records and database management.
Demonstrates the ability to perform competently during crisis or emergencies. Serving as manager on duty for an emergency call out schedule maintaining 24hr phone call availability to respond when called.
Must maintain a valid Texas driver license.
Must pass a lead paint certification course.
Ability to communicate in English by speaking reading and writing.
Ability to speak in Spanish is a plus.
