We are actively seeking an intermediate-level engineer with infrastructure detailed design experience for our bridge team. The bridge team collaborates closely with our divisional team across Ontario.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to Egiss growth playing an important part in the exciting trajectory we are establishing in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in producing engineering products for bridge rehabilitation and new design projects from concept through construction to meet customer quality requirements.
- Conduct detailed structural design calculations and analysis.
- Collaborate both independently and as part of a team to define problems establish work scope prepare budgets and schedules plan the work and provide technical support and oversight.
- Prepare and review engineering models drawings specifications quantities cost estimates and technical reports.
- Contribute to the development and review of designs for new bridges and bridge rehabilitation.
- Provide support in the evaluation inspection and rehabilitation of transportation structures.
- Assist in reviewing cost estimates specifications and tender documents.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments including highway foundation environmental drainage and electrical.
- Participate in project management duties including assembling project teams controlling budgets and schedules ensuring quality control and supporting client interactions.
- Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters Designers and less experienced Engineers.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (.) or working towards licensure.
- Minimum 5 years of design experience for MTO and municipal projects involving steel and concrete bridge structures in Ontario.
- Experience in detailed design and contract preparation.
- Proficient user of structural analysis software (Midas and CSiBridge).
- Knowledge with MTO standards and policies Highway Bridge Design Code (CSA-S6) AASHTO and ARIMA Codes.
- Ability to assist in construction liaison and support Contract Administration.
- Ability to contribute to technical design reports.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of other disciplines scope and ability to liaise.
- Possess a valid drivers license.
