About the Role:

BaptistCare is seeking a caring Therapy and Leisure Partner to join our wonderful team at our 99-bed facility in Busselton. The Therapy & Leisure Partner works under the direction of the Lifestyle Coordinator to deliver person-centred leisure lifestyle and therapy activities for residents within the Aged Care Facility. The role promotes residents physical and emotional wellbeing supports independence and engagement and involves partnering with residents in meaningful activities. Responsibilities include collaborating with Occupational Therapists Physiotherapists and other stakeholders to maintain residents functional abilities delivering therapeutic interventions preparing and evaluating programs and ensuring safety and compliance with WH&S and infection control policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement culturally and spiritually appropriate person-centred activities.
  • Support residents independence choice and engagement.
  • Monitor report and advocate for residents physical and emotional needs.
  • Collaborate with therapists and Lifestyle Coordinators to deliver quality programs.
  • Maintain program resources and identify/report hazards or incidents.
  • Follow BaptistCare policies and relevant legislation.

About you:

  • Completion of Certificate III Allied Health Assistance or equivalent accredited training or progression towards
  • Previous experience working with people with dementia
  • Valid Drivers License (Car)
  • Working knowledge of WH&S legislation and practice
