Were seeking a senior statistical analyst with strong coding skills and a passion for this role youll work with large complex datasets to uncover insights that support smarter decision-making across Waka Kotahi and the wider transport sector.

Youll collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to:

• Access extract validate merge and analyse diverse datasets
• Develop clear high-quality insights and visualisations
• Provide analytical advice that informs policy investment and operational decisions
• Tell compelling stories with data that help stakeholders understand challenges and opportunities
• Contribute to a transport system that connects people and places for a thriving Aotearoa

We are seeking to appoint at a salary between $109408 and $121564 commensurate with skills and experience.

Ko wai koe About you

Were looking for an experienced and adaptable senior analyst who can hit the ground running.

Youll bring:

• Proven experience working with large and complex datasets including relational databases
• Strong SQL skills (essential) with R and Power BI experience highly desirable
• Familiarity with official statistics and their communication or interpretation
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into clear engaging narratives / visualisations
• Understanding of the Official Information and Privacy Acts (preferred)
