We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Microbiology Analyst - Level 1 to join our team in Mississauga this position you will play a crucial role in conducting microbiological analyses and supporting our laboratory operations.
- Perform various microbiological tests and analyses on samples using standard laboratory techniques
- Prepare culture media reagents and other materials required for microbiological testing
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory activities and test results
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment ensuring proper calibration and functionality
- Assist in the development and optimization of microbiological testing methods
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized laboratory environment
- Adhere to all safety protocols and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines
- Participate in data analysis and interpretation of test results
- Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for internal and external use
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Microbiology Biology or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in microbiology or a related field (internships or academic research experience is valuable)
- Proficiency in microbiology laboratory techniques including aseptic techniques and microscopy
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain organized records
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel for data analysis
- Knowledge of microbiology principles and practices
- Understanding of quality control procedures in microbiology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and methodologies
