Job Duties
$5000 Sign-On Bonus or up to $10000 Student Loan Repayment may be available for eligible new hires.
Provides clinical and administrative supervision consultation direction and training to assigned District Mental Health Clinicians (DMHC) in order to assess and monitor the quality and effectiveness of mental health services provided to probationer/parolees under supervision of Probation and Parole Districts and Community Corrections Alternative Program (CCAP) facilities. Ensures provision of clinical supervision consistent with contemporary mental health care and correctional standards. Oversees evaluates and provides mental health and suicide prevention training to clinical and non-clinical staff within each region. Serves as mental health liaison between institutions and community operations. Supervises and provides mental health services to probationer/parolees including crisis intervention screening mental health assessment psychoeducational services individual and brief supportive therapy treatment coordination supervision recommendations and re-entry planning under supervision and direction of the Mental Health Clinical Supervisor (MHCS). Works with Community Services Boards (CSBs) local and regional jails courts community hospitals area treatment providers private agencies and organizations to ensure continuity of mental health services for probationer/parolees and promote interagency collaboration.
Minimum Qualifications
Advanced knowledge skills and training in Psychology (clinical or counseling) Social Work or equivalent experience in related human services field.
Training and experience in the treatment of mental disorders.
Demonstrated ability to develop intervention and treatment plans and provide individual and group counseling or therapy.
Considerable knowledge of psychopathology diagnostic nomenclature psychological theory and ethical practices. Demonstrated skill in psychological assessment including diagnostic interviewing and report writing.
Demonstrated ability to provide training to clinical and non-clinical staff.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Additional Considerations
Ability to fulfill professional tasks of a Mental Health Service Provider as mandated by the Code of Virginia
Experience in correctional forensic mental health or other institutional setting
Demonstrated ability to provide clinical and administrative supervision to mental health staff
Relevant experience in program development implementation and evaluation
