About the role
Permanent full-time opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team as either a Trainee or Graduate Building Surveyor.
This role provides a valuable pathway to develop professional skills and contribute to the delivery of safe and compliant building outcomes for our growing community.
To advance Councils vision of a prosperous region with a harmony of urban and rural qualities and a strong commitment to environmental protection and enhancement. The position holder will achieve this by way of the effective and efficient discharge of Councils statutory land use responsibilities. The three fundamental elements to the position include; land use advice; development assessment (DAs CCs and CDCs); and land use management (regulation and compliance).
Trainee Building Surveyor commencing salary: $43025.00 per annum / per hour plus 12% Superannuation.
Essential
Enrolled in a course in environmental Health & Building Surveying Building Surveying or related field that would achieve A4 accreditation with the Building Professionals Board
An understanding of development approval and certification processes in New South Wales
Written and verbal communication skills
An understanding of the principles of EEO and WHS
A current Class C driver licence
Desirable
Customer service experience
Experience in working in teams

Graduate Building Surveyor commencing salary: $78619.00 per annum / per hour plus 12% Superannuation.
Essential
Completed or nearly completed tertiary qualification in Environmental Health Building Surveying or a related field
A good understanding of development approval and certification processes in New South Wales
A current Class C Driver Licence
Desirable
Previous experience in a local government environment.
You will be required to undertake employment checks which may include a Criminal History Check Qualification Check Working with Children Check Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council for review in order to progress through the recruitment process.
