Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 384-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael California. We have served north Sacramento County as well as south Placer County for over 50 years. Our facility is one of the areas largest medical centers and also one of the most comprehensive. Job Summary and Responsibilities
Mercy San Juan Medical Centers 8-bed Pediatrics unit has 24-7 in house provider coverage from the Pediatric team which includes Pediatric Intensivists Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. The unit receives a large number of admissions through our Emergency Department but also accept direct admits. We see a variety of respiratory admissions GI and a few minor surgical patients such as appendectomy. Major surgical patients are transferred to a higher level of care facility.
The incumbent provides coordinates and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. Each RN is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team providing leadership personal/professional development and conducting him/herself professionally.
Job Requirements
Minimum:
- 1 year pediatric RN experience in acute care setting
- Current CA RN licensure
- Current BLS and PALS from American Heart Association
- NRP certificate within 3 months of hire
