What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Document all activities on site during duration of the contract and prepare inspection reports.
- Oversee document review and assess contractors compliance with contractual requirements.
- Review construction documents and drawings in order to minimize issues and to reduce the potential for extra work orders during construction.
- Take accurate and detailed measurements of all work performed by the contractor to ensure accurate payments.
- Assist the Project Administrator with the review of contract submissions (critical path schedules RFIs etc)
- Assist the project Administrator with staff scheduling/coordination.
- Attend progress meeting and provide feedback on ongoing construction and issues.
- Supervision of Junior inspector.
- Inspection and testing of soils concrete steel and masonry materials for road and bridge projects. Experience with LADOTD construction and specifications desired.
- Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Observing general job safety practices.
- Monitoring and inspecting the Work Zone Traffic Control in accordance with contract documents.
- The ability to work as a team a plus.
- Possibility of weekend and evening work as dictated by contract.
What your experience looks like
- Bachelors of Engineering graduate or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in construction inspection two (2) years of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
- ACI Concrete Technician
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
Experience with Construction Engineering and Inspection encompassing the management of the construction phase of transportation projects including engineering and inspection services.
- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures lighting structures and traffic signal structures)
- CTQP Grouting Technician Level I CTQP Post-Tensioning Technician Level I
- IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
- CTQP QC Manager
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
