  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM 10:00 PM

  • 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM 6:00 AM

Pay: $17.00 $19.00 per hour (based on education)

About the Position

Oriana House is seeking compassionate and motivated Behavioral Health Specialists to join our this role youll provide direct support to clients in a residential treatment setting helping them achieve their recovery goals through supervision encouragement and structured activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and sign shift reports within the first hour of your shift.

  • Maintain an active visible presence on the unit conducting regular rounds every 30 minutes to monitor client behavior and ensure safety.

  • Observe and document client behaviors reporting concerns or unsafe conditions to supervisory or clinical staff promptly.

  • Facilitate scheduled activities including focus groups counseling sessions (under clinical supervision) client intakes random alcohol and drug testing dorm searches and emergency drills.

  • Monitor medication compliance and document/report any issues.

  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients; engage them in recreational and therapeutic activities.

  • Encourage client participation in treatment educational and social programs.

  • Understand and implement each clients Individual Treatment Plan.

  • Intervene appropriately in crisis situations to ensure the safety of all clients and staff.

  • Maintain ongoing professional training to meet requirements for the Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS/QBHS) designation and Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) certification.

Training & Certification

Candidates hired as Behavioral Health Specialists will be required to complete:

  • Training to become a Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS/QBHS)

  • Certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) within three months of employment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Completion of 40 hours of training within the first 30 days of hire

  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain a CDCA certification within three months

  • Positive attitude toward the disease concept of addiction and client recovery

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of confidentiality regulations and client recordkeeping

  • Valid drivers license and insurable driving record

  • Ability to work effectively with staff external partners and diverse client populations
