Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

Supervises and assists in the performance of maintenance and preventive maintenance of electrical fire alarms CCTV electronic security pa intercom and high voltage distribution systems emergency generators and equipment.
Plans electrical work including repairs to high voltage equipment and systems.
Reads blueprints and wiring diagrams and makes take-offs.
Requisitions materials and parts needed.
Ensures completion of installation/repairs.
Makes emergency repairs to electrical system and equipment.
Performs on-the-job training of inmates.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in construction or repair of secondary electrical systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of state Human Resources).

A high school diploma.
Five (5) years professional experience in the construction or repair of institutional electrical systems.
