The Commercial Director will be responsible for:
leading and scaling Wolts commercial operations function for the resturant vertical across this high-impact leadership role you will have the opportunity to shape the course of Wolt in Germany. You will lead and manage a large organization of talented motivated teams taking full ownership of commercial performance across Wolts commercial function for the Restaurant vertical from strategic vision and merchant acquisition to revenue growth and operational excellence.
In this role you will...
- Own the commercial strategy for Wolts commercial function for the Restaurant vertical in Germany driving top-line growth merchant success and sustainable profitability.
- Lead and scale a multi-layered team across merchant acquisition sales and account management creating clear goals structures and performance frameworks.
- Manage the full P&L for the Restaurant vertical with accountability for revenue margins and overall commercial outcomes.
- Drive and close high-value commercial deals building long-term partnerships with major restaurant groups and mid-market partners.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Analytics Marketing and Central Operations to deliver on shared goals and innovation pipelines.
- Influence C-level stakeholders both externally with partner organizations and internally across Wolts senior leadership.
- Translate strategy into action creating focused roadmaps commercial priorities and team alignment across multiple levels.
- Monitor market trends and competitive dynamics continuously evolving our approach to stay ahead and maximize impact in Germanys restaurant sector.
Our humble expectations
Must-haves:
- 10 years of experience in sales business development or partnerships with a strong track record of closing complex commercial deals.
- 5 years of direct ownership of P&L or key commercial metrics (revenue growth profitability).
- Proven experience leading and scaling multi-layered commercial teams including people managers and senior leaders.
- Strong ability to influence cross-functional teams and align diverse stakeholders around common goals.
- Excellent communicator and strategic thinker comfortable engaging at C-suite and executive levels.
- Fluent Business German and English (written and verbal).
Nice-to-haves:
- Background in B2C marketplaces or high-growth tech environments.
- Experience in retail e-commerce or related industries.
- Leadership of large organizations (200 people).
- Proficiency in analytics tools and SQL ability to turn data into actionable insight.
