The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the full bookkeeping function ensuring accurate financial records reconciliations and compliance with accounting standards. The successful candidate will be an assertive detail-oriented individual with strong leadership abilities capable of running and supporting a small finance team.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance.
- Process and reconcile bank accounts debtors creditors and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and submit VAT PAYE and other statutory returns.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Maintain the fixed asset registers and perform monthly reconciliations.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and budgeting.
- Prepare monthly management reports and assist with year-end audit processes.
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
- Supervise junior finance staff ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Liaise with External Auditors suppliers and other stakeholders as required.
Education & Qualifications:- Matric (Grade 12) required.
- Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping Accounting or Finance (advantageous).
Experience:- Minimum of 10 years proven experience as a Bookkeeper.
- Strong proficiency in Xero ERP (essential).
- Experience in managing or leading a small finance team.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles VAT and payroll processing.
