Social Media & Digital Journalist (3-year Contract) - Midrand

POSITION: 3-Year Contract (with possibility of extension) / Onsite

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a creative flair-someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong grasp of digital platforms content trends and brand storytelling. This is an opportunity to make an impact and shape the company brand.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Journalism Communications Marketing or related discipline (NON- NEGOTIABLE)
• Minimum of 3 years experience in digital content creation journalism or social media management
• Exceptional writing editing and storytelling skills
• Proficiency with digital tools
• Working knowledge of Search Engine optimisation and analytics platforms
• Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) fluent in English

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Plan create and publish engaging social media content across various platforms (LinkedIn Instagram Facebook X TikTok).
• Write feature articles blog posts and content that reflects brand identity and values.
• Conduct interviews with internal and external stakeholders to generate authentic content.
• Ability to use tools like Google Analytics social media insights or content performance dashboards to track how content is performing (e.g. number of views engagement click-throughs) and make data-driven decisions to improve it.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design PR and marketing teams to align messaging and strategy.
• Stay up to date with trends tools and best practices in digital media and journalism.
