RN Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Location: Panama City FL 32401
Shift: 10-hour Rotating (7:00 5:30 8:00 6:30 9:00 7:30 10:00 8:30)
Job Type: Permanent
Guaranteed Hours: (40 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience (Negotiable)

Job Summary:

As a PACU Registered Nurse you will play a critical role in the immediate post-operative care of surgical patients. You will manage airway support monitor neurological and cardiac status respond promptly to complications or side effects provide initial wound care and ensure patient stability during recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate effectively as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team including providers therapists and other healthcare professionals.
Apply the nursing process critical thinking clinical judgment technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care.
Assess and monitor patient condition throughout your shift documenting changes and care provided thoroughly.
Educate patients and their families/caregivers about medical conditions treatments and follow-up measures.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of recent PACU acute care experience (within the last year). Facility strongly prefers candidates with critical care experience in addition to PACU experience.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or instructor status (must be obtained within 30 days of start date).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or instructor status (must be obtained within 60 days of start date).
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or instructor status (must be obtained within 60 days of start date).
Must hold a Registered Nurse (RN) license (ADN or Diploma).
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) credential is a plus.
