Job Description:
- We are seeking an experienced AI Portfolio Manager to lead a suite of AI and digital assistant initiatives designed to optimize subsurface and wells operations. This role drives the development and deployment of intelligent systems that enhance decision-making automate technical workflows and elevate performance across exploration and well delivery operations.
- As a key member of customers AI & Data Science team youll bridge domain expertise in subsurface and well engineering with emerging AI technologies. You will lead cross-functional teams to deliver tangible business outcomes through portfolio strategy stakeholder alignment and disciplined execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a portfolio of AI and automation projects across subsurface drilling and wells domains.
- Define prioritize and track projects in alignment with business goals resource availability and data governance standards.
- Develop forecast models for project costs ROI and risk-adjusted performance benchmarks.
- Partner with geoscientists drilling engineers and production teams to identify workflows that benefit from AI augmentation.
- Collaborate with data scientists ML engineers and software developers to design train and deploy AI-based assistants and optimization tools.
- Translate complex technical requirements into actionable project charters ensuring traceability from pilot to production.
- Establish metrics for AI adoption accuracy and operational impact; regularly report outcomes to leadership.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls model governance and regulatory standards.
- Mentor team members on AI literacy value measurement and data-driven decision-making frameworks.
- Champion the integration of AI tools in daily subsurface workflows reinforcing change adoption and scaling successful pilots.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Data Science Geoscience or related technical field.
- 10 years of combined experience in subsurface wells or digital transformation domains including 4 years in AI or data-driven project delivery.
- Proven experience managing multi-project portfolios with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of machine learning and automation principles applicable to engineering workflows.
- Working knowledge of data science platforms ML model lifecycle management and cloud-based application environments (AWS or Azure preferred).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Experience executing projects under enterprise AI governance and value-realization frameworks.
Preferred:
- Background in developing or deploying AI models for drilling optimization reservoir modeling or predictive maintenance.
- Familiarity with digital twin technologies agent-based modeling or large language model (LLM) integration in engineering contexts.
Understanding of change management in industrial digital transformation initiatives.
