2nd shift available - Full Time - East Peoria LL

Pay: Up to $24.97 per hour depending on experienceplus $1.00 per hour off-shift premium.
Welders may elect to receive a$4.00 per hour retention bonus immediately.

As an experienced Fabrication Specialist you will set up operate and adjust manual and/or automatic machines to perform welding operations in all positions.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Perform manual finish welding operations on plain and alloy steels in all positions
Operate robotic welding equipment
Follow documented procedures and standard work to perform safe and defect free operations
Perform carbon arc cutting and gouging
Sanding may be required to dress welds
Use of jib and overhead crane to manually position work pieces

Required Qualifications:

Must be able to pass multiple welder qualification tests during the Caterpillar provided training
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in production environment using GMAW with 0.045 or larger wire on ½ or greater thickness material
Ability to perform simple computer operations
Be available to work any shift
Ability to work overtime to support production demands

Desired Qualifications:

Three (3) years of GMAW welding experience
Technical school or equal educational background in mechanical or similar discipline

Top Candidates will also possess:

Good communication skills and strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Ability to work well individually or in a team environment

Additional Information:

Full Time position offering benefits including health insurance paid time off paid holidays 401K etc.
Company Provided PPE such as Safety Glasses (includes prescription safety glasses) and Weld Hood as well as Safety Boot Reimbursement.
Shift: 2nd shift 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Pay: Up to $24.97 per hour depending on experienceplus $1.00 per hour off-shift premium.
Welders may elect to receive a$4.00 per hour retention bonus immediately.
Incremental increaseswill be appliedevery 26 weeksuntil themaximum rate is reached.
Training will be completed on 1st shift for the first 4-5 weeks
90 Day probationary period includes weld school training
This position is located in East Peoria Bldg LL
No relocation package is available
Must be able to pass welder qualification requirements during the Caterpillar provided training by a Certified Welding Educator (CWE) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or approved personnel
