Job Summary:
We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for a Med/Surg Float Pool position in a Level 1 Trauma Facility. This role involves working six 12-hour shifts in a two-week period with every other weekend required. Candidates with Level 1 trauma hospital experience are preferred.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct and indirect patient care including:
Obtaining vital signs
Assisting with toileting bathing and feeding
Supporting patient mobility and comfort
Serve as a safety companion for patients identified as safety risks.
Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
Respond appropriately to changing patient needs in a dynamic acute care environment.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Participate in quality improvement and continuous professional development.
Uphold ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
Current New York State CNA certification (required)
Current BLS certification (required)
Minimum of 1 year of patient care experience in an acute care setting
Experience in a Level 1 trauma or similar high-acuity hospital strongly preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must pass pre-employment health clearance
