JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective
Supportthe Department of Public Works during snow and ice operations.

Essential Functions
This position is required to:

In support of snow and iceoperations operate safely Town vehicles light equipment and heavy equipmentassigned under the supervision of the Operations Manager or his designer.

Perform all tasks assigned includingsnow plowing snow pushing snow transport and salting/sanding.

Report any problem encountered whileinspecting or operating any Town vehicle or equipment.

Performs simple maintenance on equipment includingchecking all fluid and oil levels greasing all fittings checking air pressurein tires and checking all lights and safety equipment on each vehicle.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of thisjob the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles movingmechanical parts and vibration. The employee is exposed to a variety of extremeweather conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands
Frequent strenuousphysical effort required including ability to lift and carry on a frequent and continuousbasis objects weighing up to fifty pounds. Required to bend kneel reach andsquat through the work shift. Frequent movements in and out of equipment andvehicles. Specific vision abilities required by this job include closevision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception andability to adjust focus. Musthave the ability to use and wear personal protective equipment and clothingsuch as hearing protection eye protection foot and hand protection.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Must be able to workday or night on weekdays weekends andholidays for shifts of eight hours or more during weather events.

Required Education and Experience

Backgroundin use of snow and ice operations.

Must beable to pass Drug and Alcohol Screening.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Possession of or ability to obtain:

  1. A valid state drivers license.
  2. CDL Class B & Air Brakes endorsement with no active violations within the previous three years preferred.
  3. Hoisting License 2A preferred.

Work Authorization
Provideappropriate documentation to verify your authorization to work in the UnitedStates.
