Job Summary
ASSYST is seeking an Accountant / Auditor to support the accounting/auditing work for our client in Rockville Maryland.
Job Type: Contract (Corp to Corp/C2C or 1099)
Job Location: Rockville Maryland (Hybrid - Onsite only when required)

Responsibilities:
- Preparing analyses of reports and making recommendations regarding the analyses.
- Performing analysis of assigned funds/sub-funds.
- Performing complex reconciliations of various Oracle General ledger accounts.
- Preparing supporting work papers for adjusting journal entries.
- Will be working side-by-side with thestaff to facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Will be reporting directly to the Treasury Accounting Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in accounting or related field is preferred but not required.
- The candidate must understand generally accepted accounting principles for governmental accounting including having a thorough knowledge and understanding of GASB and/or FASB standards and statements.
- Must be proficient in using Oracle ERP accounting systems Excel and other current technology.
- Knowledge of MUNIS Crystal Reports and BI tools is strongly preferred.
