Description
This on-site contract position is located in Palos Heights and offers a unique opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in the cardiothoracic surgery field.
In this role you will collaborate with a team of skilled healthcare professionals to provide high-quality medical care to patients undergoing cardiothoracic procedures. Your expertise will contribute to improving patient outcomes and supporting the surgical team in a dynamic setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the management and treatment of patients undergoing cardiothoracic procedures
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop patient care plans
- Conduct pre-operative and post-operative evaluations
- Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals
- Provide patient education and counseling regarding treatment options
- Monitor patients progress and adjust care plans as necessary
- Document patient interactions and care in accordance with regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Active Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant license
- Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or a related field preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts 7 on/7 off
No call requirement
Setting: Inpatient and outpatient
Patient Census: Up to 10-15 per day
Will serve as first assist for CABG ECMO and EVH procedures
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
